This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by the O. Max Gardner Foundation, is Melissa Driver Beard.
Driver Beard is the executive director of the CORA Food Pantry. They have been fighting hunger and food insecurity in Chatham County for years. CORA Food Pantry now has two pantry locations in Pittsboro and Siler City. They have a new program called SNACK for kids who miss out on school meals during the summer and a mobile market to distribute food to residents all over Chatham County.
Listen to this week’s Hometown Hero segment below, and check in next week for another recognition of someone who is making a difference in our community! Who do you think deserves to be recognized?
