This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Lotta Sjoelin.
Sjoelin has spent the last 10 years using her design expertise to make life easier for people in homeless shelters. She founded A Lotta Love, a nonprofit that furnishes and decorates spaces in homeless shelters for families. They have decorated gardens, bedrooms, living rooms, children’s rooms. They furnish and personalize the spaces to make the families feel safe and dignified after the trauma they have endured. They have grown to serve 24 shelters around North Carolina.
