This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Laura McDow! A young activist and organizer, McDow missed her own high school graduation as she planned and attended protests and marches for stricter gun safety laws in North Carolina and across the United States.
A senior at the Carolina Friends School in Durham, McDow’s involvement in March for Our Lives has been more than enough to gain the attention of local activists and officials, and her dedication to community safety makes her this week’s Hometown Hero!
Listen to this week’s Hometown Hero segment below, and check in next week for another recognition of someone who is making a difference in our community!
