This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Kate Westmoreland.

Westmoreland is a UNC Pediatrician and the medical director and mastermind of a clinic designed to treat patients with Down syndrome, a deeply personal journey for her after she found out her daughter has Down syndrome. The clinic gives patients and their families one place to access treatment and expertise. What makes Westmoreland’s clinic unique, it’s a lifespan clinic that will treat kids and adults alike.
