This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Jennifer Hutton.
Hutton is an interior designer who moved to the Triangle five years ago to help launch a studio in partnership with Grau Building Company. But that’s just her day job as Hutton also spends her free time organizing various efforts to help people, like taking part in Habitat for Humanities builds. Hutton has also organized a food drive collecting donations for PORCH around Thanksgiving every year for the last five years. The food drive has grown from her collecting food from her co-workers and has grown into what it is today. This year, with a partnership with Wegmans, they were able to donate over 6,000 pounds of food.
