This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Jacques Menache.
Menache is the founder of The ArtCenter. He had a vision to make Carrboro an artsy town so he opened a one-room art school 50 years ago that grew quickly and over the last 50 years, has evolved into what we know it today, with live performances and many art classes and camps. He didn’t stop at just The ArtCenter though, he also co-founded WCOM radio to continue to make his community a better place.
