Exploring Your Creative Genius: Episode 89
In the most recent episode I continued to share the 73 creative and entrepreneurial strategies and behaviors offered to prompt your thinking about how you will grow and apply your natural creative abilities.
Two of behaviors that I mentioned are Wondering and Wandering.
One of the things about these behaviors that I love so much is that you don’t need to prepare. You can just get started.
Step out of your room or house and when you attention is called on, wonder why. Then wonder again.
And when you are out on your walk maybe make it more of leisurely stroll, follow the invitations the world is offering, follow your wondering, and wander on over. When I am in the woods I have a destination in mind. But often I just let my dog lead and wander and wonder around behind her.
A guest of the show, Vlad Glaveannu, is a researcher in the field of Creativity and has a special interest in wonder. He agrees with many that it the beginning of creative thinking. He describes Wonder as the interplay between Awareness and Excitement and Movement.
How about this little riff: The beginning of Wisdom is Wonder and the beginning of Wonder is Awe.
If the topic of Wonder interests you, Vlad’s book ‘ Wonder: The Extraordinary Power of an Ordinary Experience’ is great, with chapters like ‘Wondering about Wonder’ and ‘Making the Familiar Unfamiliar.’

“Exploring Your Creative Genius” takes an expansive view on what it means to be creative and entrepreneurial in an ongoing conversation led by Carl Nordgren — entrepreneur, novelist, and lifelong student with decades of experience growing his own creative capacity and assisting others to do the same in exciting new ways!
