Exploring Your Creative Genius: Episode 88
In last week’s episode, I reminded listeners that I won’t define “creative” nor “creatively entrepreneurial” — you are best served developing a dynamic understanding that works for you in your work, your adventures, your life.
Pivoting off Charlie Mingus’ notion that, if you wanted him to improvise, you needed to give him something to improvise off of, I shared a handful of creatively entrepreneurial behaviors and strategies for you to play with, expand, make your own.
Let’s revisit the challenge of being generous in the inches and minutes of daily life. As 2024 began I took this on as a key creative growth for the year.
Seven months in and I can report it’s delightful, it is it’s own reward, being attentive for opportunities to serve. My intentional behaviors include listening ever more appreciatively; asking questions folks love to answer; inviting and suggesting not insisting or demanding; stepping back so others have more room to step forward; offering even a bit of joyful surprise.
I forgot to mention during the show that this month, July 2024, the e-reader version of my book ‘Becoming a Creative Genius’ (again)’ is on sale for .99 on all online booksellers!
“Exploring Your Creative Genius” takes an expansive view on what it means to be creative and entrepreneurial in an ongoing conversation led by Carl Nordgren — entrepreneur, novelist, and lifelong student with decades of experience growing his own creative capacity and assisting others to do the same in exciting new ways!
