Exploring Your Creative Genius: Episode 86

In last week’s show I talked about change, transition, transformation. We all should expect that our lives will experience constant change and being mindful about how to attend to that change can be very useful.

The concept of ‘Climate Control’ vs. ‘Command and Control’ was introduced. Command and Control is the leadership style that believes you can demand specific efforts and behaviors to create the particular outcome you are trying to achieve. It serves the military, and American corporations have applied their version of it for decades though many are coming to understand it won’t work for the times we’re entering.

Climate Control was taught to me by a barnyard of critters. Goats and chickens won’t do exactly what I tell them to do but I was able to manage them effectively and efficiently by influencing the environmental factors I could control that will make it much more likely they will behave the way I want them to, for their benefit and mine.

As we face an Unknowable Future we will find less certainty in our lives and more possibility; Climate Control invites you to identify the factors you do understand and can influence to make your preferred outcome even more probable.

And let’s reinforce last week’s show and remind you to stare at the color green for 30 seconds, twice a day, to enjoy a 25% improvement in your creative performances.

“Exploring Your Creative Genius” takes an expansive view on what it means to be creative and entrepreneurial in an ongoing conversation led by Carl Nordgren — entrepreneur, novelist, and lifelong student with decades of experience growing his own creative capacity and assisting others to do the same in exciting new ways!
