Exploring Your Creative Genius: Episode 65
In the last episode I acknowledged the new year by returning to some basic principles. I talked about why I started using ‘Creatively Entrepreneurial’–it’s to help folks who didn’t consider themselves creative because they weren’t artistic to find a new label for all the ways they are creative.
I also stated I won’t define the term, you are best served by thinking about it for yourself. Johannes Goethe (1749-1832) said ‘thinking is better than knowing’ and while there are instances when ‘knowing’ is paramount for sure I believe that when you are actively thinking about what it means for you to be creatively entrepreneurial it is much more valuable to you than someone defining it for you. So I offer a collection of behaviors and indications, facets and aspects of what being creatively entrepreneurial looks like so you can craft your own understanding, the one most useful to you for your always changing circumstances.
Being Creatively Entrepreneurial is Intentionally:
Seeing problems as opportunities to make things better by making better things, designing better services, developing better organizations.
Looking at what others have been looking at and seeing what no one else has seen + Intentionally stepping away from status quo perspectives or thinking, determined to break the chains of the familiar.
Being generative in the increment by being generous and delivering more in the inches and the minutes of daily life.
Being Ingenious….doing what you can with what you have where you are.
Being Humble, to ask questions and to retain curiosity.
Giving your undivided attention.

Discovering….Engineering….Narrating….Orchestrating
Growing….Nurturing….Inventing…Combining….Extending
Collaborating….Teaching….Learning….Appreciating….Refreshing
