Beginning Thursday, August 26, the Page Vernon Park in Pittsboro will feature a series of outdoor evening concerts called “Arts in the Park,” all free and open to the public.
The first event will feature Dave Quick Jazz in a concert from 6 to 8 p.m. in the park, located at 110 Hillsboro Street in Pittsboro.
“Our intent is to attract folks to downtown to enjoy some time outdoors in one of downtown Pittsboro’s beautiful amenities,” said Main Street Pittsboro’s board chair Maria Parker-Lewis in an annoucement. “We encourage people to either eat before, or bring food with them from local stores and restaurants, or enjoy dinner and a cocktail afterwards with friends from any of our downtown restaurants or bars. Several establishments are within walking distance of the park.”
A second concert featuring the Dave Smith Trio will be held on Thursday, September 23, also from 6 to 8 p.m. and a third concert may be held on Thursday, October 28, depending on conditions.
The events are free, but organizers are asking that dogs (and other pets!) be kept at home.
