Meet Tinker! She is an onion with many layers! Tinker is quite possibly the most friendly, loving, outgoing and affectionate cat you’ve ever met….99% of the time. She has 1% of her that is a tad unpredictable.

She ADORES LOTS OF ATTENTION but you have to be keen to her cues. She will subtly tell you when that’s enough. She needs the perfect experienced cat person who can work with her on this.

Tinker has so much love to give. She was pulled from a high risk shelter situation, filthy dirty and longing for love. She wants to be a good companion, she just needs guidance.

Tinker wants to be an only cat, and would likely thrive in a safe indoor/outdoor situation. She is pretty fearless.

She is a young adult and deserves to live a long happy life with someone who appreciates a cat with spunk.

Tinker is in our back office and available to meet anytime during business hours without an appointment. Just reach out to let us know you’d like to come by!

Meet Furi, a 5 year old, neutered Akita. Furi is heartworm positive, our facility will provide the first three months of his topical treatment to help his adopters start out. Furi was an owner surrender due to them moving and unable to keep him. His previous home states he knows some commands in Spanish… such a bilingual guy! He can be a bit timid with new people but comes around once you spend some time with him. He is currently working on his leash manners at the shelter and is enjoying his long walks with our staff and volunteers. Don’t let his age fool you. He is a bit older but has his zoomie parties and loves tennis balls.

This month, in all our remote splendor, The Goathouse Refuge is proud to introduce you to a pretty pair of ladies: Foxy and Ornella.

Foxy, born in 2019, is a gorgeous long-haired tortie loaded with sweetness, once you gently get past her shyness. Her affectionate nature has one unique quirk: she adores kisses on her muzzle, which she will request by pursing her kitty lips. Foxy arrived at the Goathouse as a kitten, together with a few kitten friends, all who have been adopted. When Foxy was found to have FIP, she went to live at Siglinda’s house for special care and treatment – and cure! Foxy has been FIP-free for two years. Living with multiple cats has been no problem for Foxy. She pretty much keeps to herself as an observer. She will adore a gentle household with adults who enjoy plenty of silken, long-haired love!

Ornella came from a shelter. Her tail is bobbed short like a bunny’s; we believe she was born that way. She is a dark brown long-haired tortie. Her sweetness is plentiful. She loves pets, and prefers that you converse with her when you pet her. She will gently let you know when she’s had enough. She is very used to other cats as well.

They will be both wonderful companions if they are in a household with less cats and they can come sleep with you!

If you are into the sweet, shy types. check Foxy or Ornella- or both!

Miss Moneypenny (“Penny”) is an active older girl. She enjoys hiking on leash and doesn’t complain about the car ride to the trailhead. She likes to stay away from noisy, high-traffic areas. She enjoys the freedom of a fenced yard, so we are hoping for that. On hot summer days, she enjoys dipping herself in the kiddie pool! Penny is a smart girl who responds well to voice commands, and had already been taught to sit and shake.
