Trending today: praise for Paris’ approach to building new venues for the upcoming Summer Olympics. Olympic buildings often fall into disuse and disrepair as soon as the games are done, but Paris is trying to avoid that: 95 percent of their venues are either preexisting buildings or will be specially built so they can be dismantled and repurposed later. (Also, Aaron offers his very simple theory for how to avoid this issue permanently down the road: just pick one place and have the Games there every time. Like, Athens is right there.)
