Trending today: a new study finding that legalizing gambling may actually reduce a state’s overall tax revenue, even while giving the state something new to tax. Also, Aaron offers his approach to taxation: since transactions are the things we tax, and taxes disincentivize behavior, let’s find the transactions we don’t mind disincentivizing and start with those.
