Trending today: “phantom traffic jams,” those situations on the highway where big traffic backups develop for no discernible reason. We still don’t know why they develop, but Vanderbilt University is now conducting a massive study on a stretch of Nashville highway to try to solve the mystery. (Some say it’s caused by people driving slow in the fast lane – but Aaron suspects that’s just a rumor started by folks who are annoyed by that kind of thing anyway.)
