Trending today: the exploding popularity of “content houses” in China, which has become quite the cutthroat industry: people live together to produce online content, hoping to turn clicks and likes into big bucks, but it’s now a competition where you can get evicted if you don’t get enough social-media engagement. (Leading Aaron to observe, once again, that China may well refer to itself as a “Communist” country, but in reality it’s one of the most weirdly capitalist countries there is.)
