Trending today: Victor takes a deep dive into dishwashers – an appliance he’d never actually used until 2018. Today’s energy-efficient dishwashers get the job done better and more efficiently, but at the cost of time: today’s average dishwasher cycle is about 160 minutes, up from 115 minutes in 2003 – and only 69 minutes in 1983. (Also, Aaron complains about the deliberately mysterious nature of the dishwasher: it doesn’t let you look inside, and it never tells you how much time is left in your cycle. What are they hiding?!)
