Hurricane season is officially under way. What can we expect this year, how should we be preparing, and what are researchers learning about this destructive weather phenomenon? Aaron chats with Rick Luettich, the director of UNC’s Institute of Marine Sciences – whose team in Morehead City is working on ways to better predict the impact of hurricanes when it comes to storm surges and floods (which can be even more dangerous than those high winds).
