It’s Carolina-Duke Week on Tobacco Road – and every year, the UNC and Duke student newspapers get into the spirit with a “Rivalry Challenge” fundraiser, competing to see who can raise the most funds the week before the game. It’s all in good fun: their joint slogan is “Hate Great Together.” It’s also a major fundraiser for both the Duke Chronicle and the Daily Tar Heel – which are both independent from their respective schools, but therefore also reliant on external donations.
