Aaron welcomes Mediterranean Deli owner Jamil Kadoura to discuss last month’s devastating fire – and the incredibly supportive community response.

The fire destroyed much of Med Deli on July 22, but the process is already underway to clean up and begin working to reopen. Kadoura says they should be able to reopen at the original location in 6-10 months – but in the meantime, they’ve already reopened for catering at the former site of Elaine’s on West Franklin Street. And Kadoura says they’ll be able to reopen for indoor dining there too, likely by October, with a limited menu.

Kadoura says he’s also grateful for the community’s response to the challenges posed by the fire – including heartfelt notes taped to Med Deli’s window, and a GoFundMe effort that’s raised more than $213,000 to support Med Deli’s staff.
