Aaron chats with actor/poet Quentin Talley, who’s performing a piece called “God’s Trombones” in conjunction with the Ackland Art Museum.
“God’s Trombones” is based on poet James Weldon Johnson’s classic work of the same name. Talley will perform it June 3-4 at the Hayti Heritage Center in Durham, in connection with the Ackland’s new exhibition “Modern Black Culture: The Art of Aaron Douglas,” which runs from April 22-June 19.
