Bob Phillips of Common Cause NC joins Aaron to discuss the ongoing legal fight over a seat on the State Supreme Court. Democrat Allison Riggs beat Republican Jefferson Griffin by about 700 votes in November, but Griffin is trying to toss out 60,000 votes on a technicality – even though state and federal judges alike have already ruled that those 60,000 voters were authorized to cast ballots. Voting rights advocates like Common Cause are arguing that a ruling in Griffin’s favor would be devastating for democracy.
