Nearly a week after Sunday’s floods, the Red Cross has closed its emergency shelter at Smith Middle School and moved its operations to University Mall.
Nearly 150 residences in three apartment and condominium complexes were damaged or destroyed by Sunday and Monday’s flood waters, according to the Town of Chapel Hill.
