The No. 2 UNC women’s tennis team kept its undefeated record intact Saturday with its most impressive win of the year, a road victory over No. 20 Michigan.

Carolina won two of three doubles matches and four of six singles matches to take the win.

In doubles, the No. 1 team of Fiona Crawley and Elizabeth Scotty dispatched their opponents 6-4, while the No. 6 team of Cameron Morra and Carson Tanguilig did the same to clinch the critical doubles point for Carolina.

Scotty, Crawley and Tanguilig each picked up singles victories as well. Crawley and Tanguilig’s wins came in straight sets, while Scotty fought through a 3-6 loss in the second set to decisively take the third, 6-1. Reilly Tran, UNC’s highest-ranked singles player at No. 7, also won her match in straight sets.

Carolina has won six of its last seven meetings with the Wolverines. The one loss came in February 2016, and is also UNC’s last non-conference road loss as a program.

The Tar Heels are 7-0 in 2022, and will now make their way to Madison, WI, for this weekend’s ITA National Team Indoor Championships. Carolina is the two-time defending national champion in the event, and will know its first opponent when the draw is released Tuesday.
