The UNC football program continued its hot streak on the recruiting trail earlier this week, when four-star wide receiver Gavin Blackwell verbally committed to play his college ball for the Tar Heels as part of the Class of 2021.
Blackwell was a high school teammate of quarterback Sam Howell at Sun Valley High in Monroe, North Carolina.
He is a 5-foot-11-inch receiver who is ranked as the No. 15 player in the country at his position by 24/7 Sports. To this point, he is the highest-ranked player in UNC’s recruiting class for next year.
Howell will be a junior in 2021 when Blackwell arrives on the field at Kenan Stadium, but the pair will likely have chemistry right from the get-go.
