Fresh off leading the UNC field hockey team to its fourth consecutive ACC tournament championship, senior goalkeeper Amanda Hendry and junior forward Erin Matson swept the NFCHA Division I Player of the Week awards given out on Wednesday.
This represents the third time this season that Matson has won the Offensive Player of the Week award, while Hendry has now won the Defensive Player of the Week honor twice.
Hendry made nine saves in the quarterfinals against Boston College, eight saves in the semifinals against Syracuse and four in the finals against Louisville.
For the season, she led the ACC with a 1.28 goals against average.
Matson was named ACC Tournament MVP after piling up four goals and an assist in UNC’s three games, a fitting ending to a season where she led the league in all offensive categories.
