Accolades continue to roll in for UNC sophomore Sara Daavettila, who helped guide the Tar Heel women’s tennis team to the ITA National Indoor Championship this past weekend in Madison, Wisconsin.

Daavettila was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player on Thursday, following a vote by the head coaches of all 16 teams that participated.

This honor comes after the ACC recognized her as the sport’s Player of the Week on Tuesday for her efforts in the tournament–which included a perfect 4-0 record in singles competition.

She also went 3-1 in doubles play with teammate Alle Sanford, as UNC won its third ITA National Indoor Title since 2013.

The list of former Tar Heels who have won the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player award is a short one, with Daavettila joining Whitney Kay (2013) and Caroline Price (2015).

UNC rose to the No. 1 spot in the team rankings following the title win, and will return to action this Sunday when it hosts No. 14 Michigan.
