CHAPEL HILL– On the heels of three talented signees on National Signing Day, this year’s 1-0 Tar Heels now turn their attention to the second game of the season against 1-1 Holy Cross Friday night at 8 p.m.

Before the press conference Thursday, Athletic Department spokesman Steve Kirschner updated the status of Hairston and McDonald.

“The University and the NCAA are still working together to resolve an eligibility issue. There’s no timetable. It will be done when it is done. I’m not going to do this before each game. When something changes, I’ll let you know,” Kirschner says.

Head Coach Roy Williams says the team is doing its best to just move on and handle the situation in the best way possible.

“It’s what it is. Everybody is trying to do their best. We’re trying to move along. But it’s what it is. We just go with it and do the best we can,” Coach Williams says.

UNC and Holy Cross have met twice before on the hardwood with the series tied 1-1. But Friday’s meeting will be the first contest between the Tar Heels and Crusaders in almost 57 years.

Countdown to Tipoff begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight following The Grid w/ Matt & Matt on WCHL, and the game begins on WCHL at 8 p.m. live from the Dean Dome.
