UNC senior forward Brice Johnson has been named one of 11 finalists for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, given annually to the nation’s best player.
Johnson leads the Tar Heels in a number of categories including points, rebounds and blocks.
He is the only player in the ACC with a field goal percentage over 60 percent.
With 16.9 points and 10.4 rebounds per game, Johnson in on pace to be the fifth Tar Heel in the past 39 years to average a double double for an entire season, joining John Henson, Tyler Hansbrough, Sean May and Antawn Jamison.
Two other ACC players were named finalists, Dukes Grayson Allen and Virginia’s Malcolm Brogdon.
The winner of the award will be announced April 11.
