Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels will headline a new college basketball event in the 2022-23 season, facing off with Michigan in the second of two games in the Jumpman Invitational in December. The tentative date for the game is December 21 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, while Florida and Oklahoma will play on December 20.

The Jumpman Invitational showcases teams who currently have equipment deals with the Jordan Brand.

It will be the fifth time in sixth seasons the Tar Heels and Wolverines will meet in men’s basketball, with the teams splitting the previous four games. Three of those games were played as part of the annual ACC-Big Ten Challenge, with the fourth being played in the Bahamas in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. Carolina won in the Smith Center this past season, 72-51.

While UNC’s non-conference schedule for next season is still being finalized, the Tar Heels do know they will be playing at least three Big Ten teams: Michigan, Ohio State (as part of the CBS Sports Classic) and an opponent to be named later in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. Carolina could also potentially face off with Michigan State in the PK85 tournament in November. The Tar Heels and Spartans are both in the same eight-team bracket as part of the 16-team event.
