UNC starting linebacker Khmori House plans to enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. The portal will officially open January 2.

House arrived in Chapel Hill via the transfer portal from the University of Washington last offseason. A sophomore, House led UNC in tackles with 78. He also recorded 2.5 tackles for loss, a pass breakup, a forced fumble and an interception. He was named ACC Linebacker of the Week following a 20-15 win against Stanford in November in which he made 13 tackles and snagged his one interception. For the season as a whole, House earned an honorable mention All-ACC nod.

House’s impending departure means the Tar Heels will lose both starting linebackers from the 2025 season. Andrew Simpson, who transferred to UNC from Boise State in the offseason, is out of collegiate eligibility.

House is the second Tar Heel who has reportedly made plans to enter the portal since the conclusion of the season last weekend. Wide receiver Chris Culliver, who finished with five catches for 100 yards and a touchdown this year but did not catch a pass in the season’s final eight games, will enter the portal as well. He did not suit up for UNC’s final game at NC State.
