Former UNC standout Brice Johnson was waived on Tuesday by the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, the team announced on Twitter.
Johnson, a former first-round pick by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2016, was previously traded to the Grizzlies on Feb. 8 from the Detroit Pistons–where the Clippers sent him in late January as part of the trade involving All-Star forward Blake Griffin.
Memphis currently sits at 20-54 this season, just one game ahead of the Phoenix Suns for the worst record in the NBA.
The 6-foot-10 forward played in just nine games for the Grizzlies, averaging three points and two rebounds in just over six minutes per outing.
Playing on a two-way contract, Johnson also spent time with the Grizzlies’ NBA G-League affiliate–the Memphis Hustle.
