CHAPEL HILL – The Chapel Hill Tigers boys’ basketball team could head into the weekend in clear control of second place or drop to third as they host the Southern Spartans Friday night.
The Tigers will have to rebound from a 25-point beating from their Big-Eight-foe Orange Panthers last week, 72-47. That game kept the Panthers’ conference record clean at 5-0, while the Tigers fell to 4-1.
Southern also holds a 4-1 record with their loss being handed out by Orange, 75-65 in the first game of 2014 for both schools.
The Tigers average less than 50 points per game, while the Spartans average nearly 60.
Tune in to pregame coverage of the Tigers and the Spartans Friday night at 6:30 p.m. on 97.9 FM and Chapelboro.com. Ran Northam will have the call alongside Paul Connell. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
