For the fourth year in a row, the Chapel Hill High Girls Basketball team is going to the Regional Semifinals of the 3-A state playoffs.

 

Last night, the Tigers captured the sectional championship by beating Corinth-Holders 80-48. Jessica Wall led the Tigers with 18 points, while Autumn West added 16.

 

Chapel Hill, playing its third game in four days, is one of eight teams remaining in the 3-A state tournament. On Friday night at 8, they will face top-seeded Eastern Wayne in the regional semifinals. The Tigers, now 22-2, are seeking its second straight 3-A state championship.

 

Meanwhile, the solid postseason run for the East Chapel Hill boys’ basketball team is over. The Wildcats lost to South Center 72-54 last night in Winterville. East ends the season 13-12.
