Here is a post on Armando Bacot that I love.

Every so often, posts come across my phone that say it better than I ever could. This is from Patrick McCann, a top contributor for the Carolina Basketball Facebook page.

It talks about Bacot so eloquently and truthfully that I want to use this space to share with you his wonderful words on AB.

“If I am a young man or woman looking to succeed in college basketball and life, I would follow the Bacot Bible!

“Deliver on the basketball court, deliver in the classroom, deliver for your business partners.

“Embed yourself in the school and the community. Graduate with a degree and possibly an MBA from one of the finest universities in the country. Lastly, do it all with uncommon grace and not a whiff of drama.

“The blueprint is there for any athlete that wants to follow, and our man Armando Bacot wrote the first NIL success manual. Thank you for all that you have done for yourself, your family and Carolina basketball fans.

“I’ve watched Armando since he was a freshman. I watch him intently and listen to all of his interviews, and read the NYT article.

“Here’s my take: he’s a smart man getting good advice from his parents. He will walk out of UNC with a business degree from Kenan-Flagler and maybe an MBA. He will have made deep business ties in the community and has a bright business future.

“As a Virginia kid, the tuition for 5 years is about $250k, training, facilities, food, the whole nine might be another $250k. Armando benefitted and UNC benefitted.

“On the basketball side, he’s a hard worker and super solid in his role as a player and a team leader. I’m happy for him and his family, I hope he realizes that a UNC business degree and MBA for him and a family that comes after him will change the trajectory of that young man’s life!”

A well-said, true tribute to a player who will forever be a legendary Tar Heel.

Thanks, again, Patrick, top contributor from the Facebook group Carolina Basketball.
