Welcome to Wellness Wednesday, presented by Orange Partnership and airing on 97.9 The Hill and Chapelboro.com!

This month, join a conversation with Vickie Feaster Fornville, special program coordinator for Orange County DSS and advisor for the NAACP youth council, and Sonyia Richardson, Assistant Professor at the UNC Charlotte School of Social Work and Director of Race and Social Equity Academy, and the Director of the Mental Health Practice and Research Lab.

July is National BIPOC Mental Health Month, originally designated as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Month, and brings awareness to mental health stigmas and myths that exist within community of color, as well as how to bridge generational differences and provoke meaningful conversations about mental health.

Listen above to the full conversation between 97.9 The Hill’s Andrew Stuckey as he talks with Vickie Feaster Fornville and Sonyia Richardson discussing how race, culture, and ethnicity affects personal perspective, generational differences, and ways to dismantle and address mental health myths in communities of people of color.

Wellness Wednesday, presented by Orange Partnership, showcases a new conversation on the first Wednesday of each month airing on 97.9 The Hill, with the full series posted on Chapelboro.
