This month, 97.9 The Hill’s Aaron Keck was joined by David Joseph, owner and general manager of the School of Rock Chapel Hill, to talk about the past few years teaching classes and keeping Blue Hill rocking.
Taking up residence in one of Chapel Hill’s quickly-developing areas, Joseph cites the Blue Hill District as a place with “a lot of opportunity and upside potential,” as well as a great place to teach classes designed for younger students.
“The neighborhood is great, and if you’ve ever tried to drive by there and find a place to park, you also know that it’s busy,” said Joseph. There’s a lot of neighbors doing lots of cool stuff. We’re in a standalone building right there in front of Trader Joe’s, and so I know for a fact that a lot of the parents will drop their kids off and then go do a little shopping while they’re waiting.”
The location currently occupied by the School of Rock, like any hit song, has plenty of staying power for both David Joseph and anyone looking to learn to rock.
“Looking at it now, we are just so visible and centrally located,” said Joseph. “We’ve got a lot of folks who come down from Durham or over from Wake County, as well as from Chatham. It’s just a really good central location, and I’m not planning to go anywhere anytime soon.”
