Quantum Soul by MagikCraft — found in Chapel Hill’s Midway, home of staples such as Rumors, Al’s Burger Shack and IP3 — is styled as a “metaphsyical gift shop,” and features all sorts of goods fitting that description, from ethically-sourced crystals and sage bundles to handmade jewelry and clothing. Quantum Soul is a relatively new addition to the Midway, but the positivity brought by its presence is easily recognized.
“I love what I do,” said Lynn Swain, one half of the husband-and-wife duo who own and operate Quantum Soul. “I love empowering people … I have two things I say to everybody: stand in your power and follow your soul goal. Do what makes you happy! Because if you don’t, nobody else is going to do it for you.”
Swain’s experience runs a through line between her status as a “seventh-generation reader,” medium, psychic, tarot expert, spiritual healer and workshop leader. Her many facets come together in Quantum Soul’s diverse offerings.
“It’s a gift shop and a metaphysical shop,” said Swain. “Everything is ethically sourced and fair trade, and we also have local vendors. If there’s any local vendors out there, just reach out to us. We really try to build a community and support a community. We sell lots of crystals — which, I literally handpick all of them. … We have clothes from Bangkok and leggings and scarves, essential oils, candles, jewelry, incense, sage … An eclectic variety for your spiritual needs or just your home needs.”
