This June, the Chapel Hill Home Instead Senior Care Office will be available for in-home safety checks for elderly residents, free of charge. By doing so, it will reduce the risk of senior citizens encountering injuries within their homes when left alone.
The 33 percent of emergency room visits caused by in-home incidents can be reduced by nearly half through these regular visits. The checks can analyze the safety of the home itself, looking out for common yet overlooked hazards.
These safety checks offered by the Instead Senior Care Office can provide a better understanding of the health and well-being of Chapel Hill seniors. This can give them more freedom to act on their own without fear of falling or other such injuries.
