Ephesus Elementary School in Chapel Hill was on lockdown, according to the Chapel Hill Police Department and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. Shortly before 3 PM on Thursday afternoon, Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools announced that the lock down was lifted.
Students report seeing a man wearing camouflage who was seen on a neighboring property and possibly carrying a gun.
Traffic in the area, especially on Ephesus Church Rd, is heavy. Officials expect the the lockdown to have a significant impact on school release. Bus schedules for Ephesus Elementary and other nearby schools will be affected.
