Routine maintenance on sewer pipes on Hillsborough St. will begin today.
The construction will cause Hillsborough St. to close from Martin Luther King Blvd. to North St. between the hours of 7AM and 4PM. The southbound lane will remain open to maintain access to emergency vehicles, service vehicles, buses and residents in the vicinity.
OWASA will need to temporarily interrupt water service when connecting the new pipes to the existing water lines. Customers will be notified one to two days before interruption of service.
Work on the road will normally occur between the hours of 7AM and 4PM on weekdays.
OWASA has also warned that drinking water may appear discolored or have air bubbles during the work. In this case, customers should run cold water in their bathtub for five to ten minutes.
