Saturdays in Saxapahaw have been a popular destination for North Carolina music lovers for more than ten years.
The free events feature free music and a farmers market. There are also activities for the children. The series runs every Saturday afternoon from May until through the end of August. The organizers are seeking help from the public to sustain Saturdays in Saxapahaw.
An Indiegogo campaign was launched in April. The campaign wraps up on Friday, May 13. Organizers hope to raise $10,000. Like all crowdfunding efforts, there are rewards for donating. The rewards include getting your name mentioned by a performer, passes to the nearby Haw River Ballroom, and a private yoga class. As of early Friday afternoon, almost $9,000 had been raised.
The funds will go towards paying staff, improvements to facilities, and new sound equipment. Organizers also hope to continue their “Trust the Bus” series. The event will continue to be free. But, as always, organizers will pass around a “Swan Bucket” each week for the band.
