CHAPEL HILL – The Orange County Department of Aging invites the public to meet the author, Pansy Dodson and her sister Madeline Sparrow.
Dodson will discuss her new book “Blessings and Hugs from the Sisters” on Wednesday December 4 and 11.
Inspired by the encouraging messages she and Sparrow sent to sit-ins and friends over the years, Dodson wrote inspirational poems of encouragement for older adults.

The Orange County Department of Social Services is requesting donations for the sixth annual Toy Chest.
The Department partners with the Marine’s Toys for Tots program to provide low income families with new toys for children.
Collection boxes for toys will be placed at various locations around OrangeCounty for the public to drop off until December 13. The 2013 Toy Chest will take place the Department of Social Services from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. December 14 to the 16.
