Orange County Animal Services has received a $25,000 grant from the national nonprofit Petco Love, aimed at supporting shelter animal veterinary care, community animal programs and “lifesaving work for animals in Orange County,” according to a release from OCAS.

“This grant is an amazing opportunity for OCAS,” said director Sandra Strong. “We know it will help us to expand and improve our lifesaving services and programs, which inevitably benefits all animals and people in our community. We are grateful for the support of Petco Love.”

The grant is part of a larger investment from Petco Love totaling more than $15 million. The money is going to no-kill shelters across the country.

“Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us,” said Petco Love president Susanne Kogut. We recently launched Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses pet image technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”
