Program and Engagement Coordinator David Michaud and Director of the Herbarium Alan Weakley from the North Carolina Botanical Garden spoke with 97.9 The Hill’s Andrew Stuckey on Thursday, February 8. They discussed a series of programs called Saving Our Savannas: Stories of the Longleaf Pine, which will be going through June 24. They discussed the importance of the tree to the history of North Carolina, the risks it is facing, how people can get involved, and more.
