Chair of the Orange County Commissioners Jamezetta Bedford joins 97.9 The Hill News Director Brighton McConnell over the phone on Wednesday, April 16. Bedford recaps Tuesday night’s board meeting — which featured the approval of purchasing land in Hillsborough for the county’s future Behavioral Health and Crisis Diversion Facility. The board chair discusses the county’s hopes for the facility and the hurdles that remain ahead before it comes to fruition. She also shares the latest county discussions around raising the tax rate during the current property revaluation cycle, and the advice given by board members to concerned citizens at Tuesday’s meeting.
