Director of the Heat Policy Innovation Hub at Duke’s Nicholas Institute Ashley Ward spoke with 97.9 The Hill’s Andrew Stuckey on Friday, September 26. She discussed much of the recent work she has been doing, including meeting with congressional leaders in Washington to discuss policy solutions to extreme heat. She also discussed the launch of the “Community Lighthouse Project,” which seeks to emulate infrastructure that has emerged in New Orleans, where faith-based organizations equip their buildings with solar panels and generators to become community power sources during extended power outages. She also discussed some of her upcoming work, and more.
