“Searching for Sassy” Community Engagement

Last year’s inaugural “Searching for Sassy” scavenger hunt generated hundreds of photos of Sassy hidden in nineteen downtown Chapel Hill and Carrboro businesses.  It quickly became popular with UNC students, so much so that the Daily Tar Heel reached out to our Marketing and Operations Manager to do a write up on the promotion: Searching For Sassy event helps bring the hunt for Bigfoot to Chapel Hill – The Daily Tar Heel.

This year’s hunt promises to bring back the excitement with another grand prize of $979 and two tickets to see Saxsquatch play at the Cat’s Cradle on October 31st.  Participants are encouraged to find and photograph “Sassy” (a printed cutout approximately 12″x12″) at each location between October 1-25 for more chances to win.

Participating businesses can capitalize on the hunt by offering specials for those who come in and find Sassy.

The “Chapelboro Downtown Shopping Guide”

A dedicated listing for your business on Chapelboro.com includes a 100-word description and photo of your business, all linked to your website or social media for one year. 

The Chapelboro Downtown Shopping Guide is linked from the top menu of Chapelboro.com, promoted heavily on-air on 97.9 The Hill WCHL, has a linked banner set on Chapelboro.com and the Chamber for a Greater Chapel Hill – Carrboro’s website, and is promoted on our social media pages as a resource for visitors to downtown to discover amazing local businesses that would love their support.
