Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton picked up a major endorsement from fictitious NASCAR superstar Ricky Bobby.

The announcement was made by comedian Will Ferrell during a visit to Clinton’s campaign office in Carrboro Saturday afternoon. Ferrell played the character in his movie Taladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby.

“Of course Ricky Bobby is voting for Hillary Clinton,” he said. “All of my characters are going to vote for Hillary Clinton.”

Ferrell made a stop in Carrboro as part of a tour across the triangle to encourage Clinton supporters to volunteer for the campaign.

He made stops in Raleigh and Durham earlier in the day. While in Carrboro he spoke to a room of around 30 campaign volunteers.

“This is an important election obviously for so many reasons,” Ferrell said. “Please keep volunteering keep getting out there. This work is so important and extremely, extremely patriotic.”

After addressing the crowd he then took to the phones to call likely Clinton voters. He described his experience earlier in the day when he went door-to-door in Raleigh.

“The first house we went to, the guy just went ‘oh my god, what are you doing here’ Ferrell said. “He was more like stressed out.”

Campaign volunteer Brian Payst said the visit from Ferrell was the most crowded he had seen the campaign office. He found out about the event when he arrived Saturday morning to canvas.

“People are really nice,” Payst said. “You’re talking to people who are motivated to vote for Clinton and the rest of the Democratic ticket. A lot of people didn’t know where the early voting location was or they didn’t know they could still early vote.”

Early voting in North Carolina ends Saturday, November 5 at 1:00 p.m. Election Day is November 8.
