Adopt Marla.  She is an 8-month-old cat that is available for adoption.

The gentle cat enjoyed exploring the entire WCHL studio.  She also was also very willing to be held.  A great combination.

Marla comes to us from Independent Animal Rescue.  She is currently being cared for by one of their volunteers, Helena Ellis.  Helena’s last foster cat was Toby.  Toby first visited us in the summer, but dropped in last week to see us.

Like Toby, Marla is sight impaired.  But, Marla can see a little out of her right eye.  From her profile, “Marla doesn’t let her partial blindness slow her down. She has some vision in her right eye that helps her navigate. She jumps on beds, couches and laps, especially laps! Her favorite spot is on your lap or chest, as close to your heart as possible. If you want a cat that sits far away from you, then Marla is not for you. She wants to be close all the time. She is extremely gentle and adores kids! She has never met a stranger. She is being fostered with several cat-friendly dogs. She is spayed and ready for adoption.”

From their website animalrescue.net:

Our mission is to rescue and provide safe and responsible care for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals. We shall strive to help all animals in need through our service programs. We will serve our communities through promotion of spay or neuter for all companion animals, and the education of children and adults in the humane care, respect and responsibility for animals on this earth.

Listen to WCHL on 97.9 FM, 1360 AM, or online at Chapelboro.com.  Adopt-a-Pet, featuring a new pet that needs a home, airs every Tuesday at 8:40 AM.
